editor, Mallory has photographed over 170 weddings with an artist eye and romantic sensibility.
This acclaimed international photographer's work has been published in many books, two that she has authored,
Outdoor Weddings: Unforgettable Celebrations in Storybook Settings, and Real Weddings: A Celebration of Personal Style.
Mallory's photographs have also appeared regularly in magazines such as Vogue, Town & Country, Martha Stewart Weddings, In-Style Weddings, Brides and Elegant Bride,
and she has been profiled on two television specials as a leading expert in her field.
Mallory believes that photographing a wedding is both an honor and a challenge. "A photographer needs to balance the need for classic pictures
with the unexpected moments that capture the charm and spirit of the wedding."
Mallory is very quiet when she works. She is often mistaken for a guest with a few extra cameras, and yet in both classic and candid shots,
her use of light, setting, and composition produce pictures that are often displayed as works of art.
Mallory has photographed weddings around the world, including such places as Nantucket, Massachusetts; Napa, California; Capri, Italy;
Marfa, Texas; Sun Valley, Idaho; Lake Forest, Illinois; Provence, France; Santa Barbara, California; Easthampton, New York; Kythira, Greece;
San Francisco, California; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Ravello, Italy.
Prior to her career as a photographer, Mallory was a fashion editor at J Crew and Brides, the Creative Director at Nine West,
the Photography Editor at Nike, and a member of the fashion staff at GQ and Self.
The Editor-in-Chief of Bride's said in the September 2006 issue that, "Mallory Samson is one of my favorite wedding photographers--
I love how she captures the soul of an event that is wrapped in ritual, and then turns it into art."
